<trans-abstract xml:lang="en"><p>One of the complex problems of modern experimental toxicology remains the molecular mechanism of formation of human health disorders separated at different time periods from acute or chronic exposure to toxic environmental pollutants (ecotoxicants). Identifying and understanding what epigenetic changes are induced by the environment, and how they can lead to unfavorable outcome, are vital for protecting public health. Therefore, we consider it important a modern understanding of epigenetic mechanisms involved in the life cycle of mammals and assess available data on the environmentally caused epigenetic toxicity and, accordingly fledging epigenenomic (epigenetic) regulatory toxicology.</p></trans-abstract><kwd-group xml:lang="ru"><kwd>эпигенетика</kwd><kwd>эпигеномика</kwd><kwd>эпигенетические механизмы</kwd><kwd>токсикоэпигенетика</kwd><kwd>эпигенетические изменения в раннем развитии</kwd><kwd>метилирование ДНК</kwd><kwd>бисфенол А</kwd><kwd>хлористый кадмий</kwd><kwd>клеточные культуры человека</kwd><kwd>хромосомы</kwd><kwd>хроматин</kwd><kwd>межпоколенческое наследование эпигенома после воздействия токсикантами</kwd></kwd-group><kwd-group xml:lang="en"><kwd>epigenetics</kwd><kwd>epigenomics</kwd><kwd>epigenetic mechanisms</kwd><kwd>toxicoepigenetics</kwd><kwd>epigenetic changes in early development</kwd><kwd>DNA methylation</kwd><kwd>bisphenol A</kwd><kwd>cadmium chloride</kwd><kwd>human cell cultures</kwd><kwd>chromosomes</kwd><kwd>chromatin</kwd><kwd>intergenerational inheritance of epigenome after exposure to toxicants</kwd></kwd-group></article-meta></front><back><ref-list><title>References</title><ref id="cit1"><label>1</label><citation-alternatives><mixed-citation xml:lang="ru">Egger G., Liang G., Aparicio A., Jones P.
